Markoprint on Liquor Bottle Labels

Today, AT Information Products (AT INFO) announced its expansion into the craft liquor industry to help distillers optimize the coding of pre-printed label stock. The latest line of Markoprint® industrial coders from AT INFO is considered by major U.S. brands as the highest quality, most versatile print systems on the market.  Now – by further leveraging HP inkjet print technology – Markoprint® is capable of coding a wider range of label stock to help manufacturers personalize various product information for consumers.

“Historically, liquor companies have relied on converters to pre-print the entire bottle label with product information, branding, and regulatory data.  However, with the current trend to add variable data during the bottling/packaging process, a solution for just-in-time coding was needed,” said Jeff Norton, Business Development Manager, AT Information Products. “Recently, we extended our print capabilities to allow for the hi-res, high-speed printing of variable information on roll-fed labels.  Our Markoprint® coders are so precise they can be set up to hit multiple locations on the bottle label with great accuracy.”

Hand labor requirements have discouraged Distillers from personalizing their bottle labels

More than ever, liquor manufacturers need solutions that are flexible, efficient, and cost-effective, which also minimize the need for hand labor.  Handwriting on labels can be replaced by a Markoprint® coding system which is integrated onto an industrial Reel-to-Reel Unwind Rewind base to allow for variable printing.  The most common coding applications include:

  • Lot/batch and bottle numbers
  • UPC & QR barcodes
  • Alcohol By Volume (ABV) and Proof
  • Graphic files including signatures

Introducing the Reel-to-Reel Unwind Rewind Label Printer Advanced

The Reel-to-Reel Label Printer Advanced is the latest innovation from AT INFO.  Unlike its predecessor with a single 1/2-inch tall print area, the Advanced version is capable of expanding to two, three, or four printheads for a maximum print height of 2-inches.  The addition of a Reel-to-Reel mechanism allows for the simultaneous printing, counting, and rewinding of label stock.

For 1-inch print areas where all variable data is located within close proximity, two printers can be digitally and physically stitched together.  Alternatively, the Reel-to-Reel Unwind Rewind Advanced can deploy two or more printheads to cover various print areas when the variable information is spread out across the label.

A growing portfolio of high-quality inks for virtually any liquor label

AT INFO offers an array of HP-based inks to print on either porous or non-porous labels, including high gloss and matte litho-type papers, plus clear films and foils.  Inks are available in a variety of colors, including alternatives for printing on either light or dark packaging.

Where to deploy AT INFO Reel-to-Reel Unwind Rewind Labeling Solutions

In addition to liquor distillers, manufacturers in Food, Beverage, Pharma/Medical, Pet Supplies, Automotive, and Consumer Goods are regular users of Markoprint® systems. Essentially, any company with a need to code variable data on a pre-printed label stock is a viable prospect for these systems.
